Our task, regarding creativity, is to help children climb their own mountains, as high as possible."
I love the quote by Dr. Brazelton about parents' caring so deeply. When working in the field of early childhood we experience families of all types. It is always important to remember that parents are always doing their best. As my principal says, "Our parents send us their best." We should remind ourselves that the best they have are raised by the best the parents have to offer. It is our privilege to help the families of our learners to expand on their strengths as parents.
ReplyDeleteYou hit it on the nose, Caroline! Actually, I like your principal's quote... perhaps, teachers need to post that quote in their classrooms. Helping individuals become better parents is just part of our job... I certainly don't have all of the answers for parents, but together, we can make a difference.
